Besides digging for ten days in Hazor, I spent several days in Old Jerusalem. Here history comes alive within medieval walls and through winding cobblestone streets packed with people. Of course, I traveled to many other place in Israel. I lingered at many wonderful sites around the lovely Sea of Galilee. I swam in the Mediterranean Sea and floated in the Dead Sea—1300 feet below sea level and lowest point on earth. I stood on the Golan Heights overlooking Syria and waded in a gushing spring near the border of Lebanon. I wandered though the lush mountains of the north to deserts surrounding Jericho in the south. It's amazing to see a sampling of the world's geography (and then some) crammed into a country one forth the size of Ohio. Click on a picture to see a larger view.
