I worked at the ancient Tel of Hazor. A Tel is a giant flat top mound with multiple layers of ruined cities built one upon another.
The Israelis pronounce Hazor as "Hot-sore"—it became a joke to fellow diggers that it’s always hot and will leave you sore. But, that didn't bother me as I uncovered things that had not seen the light of day for over 3000 years! I found many pottery shards in the excavation of a ten-foot thick stonewall twenty feet below ground level. I made no unique discoveries except for a personal treasury of great memories.
